No. Yoast SEO must be installed and active. PressBot reads from and writes to the same Yoast meta fields you already use — SEO title, meta description, focus keyphrase. Yoast continues to do all the heavy lifting in the editor; PressBot operates on the same data across the site.
Does it work with Yoast Free or only Premium?
Both. The four PressBot Yoast tools work against Yoast Free metadata fields. If you have Yoast Premium, PressBot still reads and writes the same canonical fields — we don’t touch Premium-only features (multiple keyphrases, internal linking suggestions) in v1.
What exactly can PressBot write?
v1 writes are scoped to three Yoast fields per post: SEO title, meta description, and focus keyphrase. Plus the native WordPress excerpt and tags through the AI Visibility Opportunity Engine. Everything else stays read-only — PressBot never edits your post body, schema, or canonical settings.
