Agent Behavior
- New principles preamble in the agent guide grounds the agent in PressBot’s operator character — act on intent, prefer update over create, do the lookup work, preview destructive changes, and never invent facts about the site
- Constitutional stem added to both admin-agent and MCP system prompts: same five-line behavior contract loads on every request, so principles travel across surfaces (dashboard, Telegram, MCP clients)
- Capability scope and credential privacy are now explicit principles — the agent reports permission-blocked tools honestly and never echoes API keys, license codes, or visitor data
- 9 new principle-style eval cases verify the “why” under pressure: ambiguous reference, hallucination trap, bulk-without-confirmation, Trusted Plan bypass, self-protection, theme-file boundary, credentials privacy, and lookup-before-create
Smarter tool use
- Read tools like “list posts” and “browse the site index” now default to compact summaries — the agent reaches for full details only when it actually needs them. Lower latency on simple lookups, less context burned on big sites
- List-style tools return clean pagination hints (next offset, total count) so the agent walks through hundreds of posts without re-running the same query
- When a query returns too many results, the agent gets actionable recovery hints — narrow the search, paginate, or pull a single item — instead of a vague “truncated” marker
- Multi-step tasks stay cleaner across long jobs: the next agent turn sees a high-signal version of past tool results, while the chat UI still shows you the full thing

DeepSeek now streams live
PressBot 1.6.4 turns DeepSeek into a much more natural real-time chat option. Public chatbot replies now arrive token by token instead of landing as one delayed block, so the lowest-cost provider feels faster, more conversational, and much closer to the live experience visitors already get with Claude.

OpenAI / GPT Support
PressBot added OpenAI support alongside Anthropic Claude and Google Gemini. The current lineup also includes DeepSeek as the ultra-low-cost public chatbot option. Bring your own OpenAI API key and use GPT-5.4 or GPT-5.4 Pro for the chatbot, the admin agent, or image generation via GPT Image 2 — the same BYOK model, no markup, no middleman.
OpenAI joins the provider lineup
Paste an sk- key, pick GPT-5.4 or GPT-5.4 Pro per surface, and mix GPT with Claude and Gemini freely across supported surfaces. DeepSeek later expanded the public-chat lineup. Image generation picks up GPT Image 2 when OpenAI is configured and organization verification is complete.
