BYOK stands for Bring Your Own Key. Instead of paying per-message fees through a middleman, you use your own API keys from Anthropic (Claude) or Google (Gemini). Your keys are encrypted and stored on your server — PressBot never sees or proxies your API calls. You pay the AI providers directly at their rates, and PressBot charges only for the plugin license.

Yes. All conversation data stays in your WordPress database. API keys are encrypted with AES-256-CBC and stored in your wp_options. PressBot makes direct API calls from your server to the AI providers — nothing passes through our servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
